EEES Magazine 2026

The first edition of the EEES Digital Magazine was officially launched during LUMINEX 2026, held on March 06, 2026. Organized by the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society (EEES) of the University of Peradeniya, LUMINEX brought together three key segments: the DEEE Career Fair, which connected students with industry representatives and career opportunities; EEERaPS (Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research and Project Symposium), where final-year students presented their research and engineering projects; and EEES Night, a celebratory gathering for students, alumni, and staff. The launch of the magazine during this event highlighted its role as a platform for sharing knowledge and celebrating the achievements of the department’s academic community.

Inside the First Edition

The inaugural edition of the EEES Digital Magazine 2026 presents a curated collection of articles, technical insights, and reflections that showcase the diverse landscape of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

This edition includes content such as:

  • Technical articles and insights covering areas such as energy systems, telecommunications, control engineering, artificial intelligence, automation, and other emerging technologies.

  • Perspectives from academic staff discussing modern engineering challenges and developments within the field.

  • Student-led articles and explorations highlighting innovative thinking and interdisciplinary interests among undergraduates.

  • Highlights of departmental activities and milestones, including events, research initiatives, and academic achievements.

  • A record of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society’s present achievements, documenting the society’s initiatives, activities, and contributions to the academic and professional community.

As the first edition of what is intended to become an annual publication, the EEES Digital Magazine serves both as a record of the department’s current accomplishments and the society’s achievements, while also reflecting the aspirations and future direction of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering community.
